How to avoid problems when renting housing

The specialists of the “Legal Advisor for IDPs” remind you that before concluding a rental agreement, you should carefully check the documents for housing, especially if the offer seems suspiciously cheap. Landlords may hide important details that may cause problems later.

Common risks:

• Housing is rented out without the owner's consent;

• Presence of a mortgage or seizure on the property;

• Incorrectly executed property documents.

Documents to check:

• Extract from the Unified Register of Real Estate;

• Certificate of ownership or inheritance;

• Purchase and sale agreement or donation agreement.
