The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed and detained the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who, according to the investigation, illegally acquired assets worth over 1 million US dollars during the full-scale war, writes IZ. The official also holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Medical Commission (VLK) and is responsible for determining the fitness of servicemen for service. This was reported by the SBU press service.
Large-scale assets hidden from the declaration
The investigation established that from 2022 to 2024, the official purchased real estate, luxury cars and other property that was not indicated in his declaration. To hide his enrichment, the suspect registered the assets in the names of his relatives – his wife, daughter, sons – and other persons. Among the acquisitions:
• A private house in the Obukhiv district of the Kyiv region;
• Two apartments in Kyiv;
• One apartment in Odessa;
• Two land plots in the Obukhiv district of the Kyiv region.
He also became the owner of several luxury BMW cars:
• BMW X7 2024 model year;
• BMW X7 2022 model year;
• BMW X5 2023 model year;
• BMW X3 2022 model year.
During the searches, investigators found cash: 152 thousand US dollars and 34 thousand euros, which were kept by the official.
Articles of indictment and possible punishment
The SBU reported that an official notice of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being prepared for the suspect in the case:< /p>
• Article 368-5 – illegal enrichment,
• Article 366-2 – declaration unreliable information.
The sanction of the articles provides for punishment in the form of up to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. Currently, the question of choosing a preventive measure and imposing an arrest on the suspect's assets is being resolved.
The SBU does not disclose the name of the detainee, but it is known that the position of chief psychiatrist of the SSU is held by Oleg Druz. Given his status, the suspect had access to key decisions regarding the determination of servicemen's suitability for service, which could be one of the sources of illegal enrichment. to the regional territorial center of procurement.
