In Zhitomir, Russian agents who were going to blow up a police squad that was supposed to arrive at a call on 102.

This was reported by the SBU and the National Police.

In order to commit the terrorist act, the detainees had rented an apartment in the regional center in advance and installed two homemade explosive devices (IEDs) there.

Law enforcement officers found an IED in the apartment, disguised in a soft toy, a portable speaker, and a thermos with an explosive substance. They also found two mobile phones, which were intended for observation and activation of the explosives.

An examination established that the IEDs were equipped in thermoses and filled with stones to enhance the destructive effect in the event of detonation.

Using remote access, the enemy planned to activate both SVPs when police officers entered the room through the open door.

Before this time, the agents were supposed to leave the rented apartment and hide in a hotel room to receive further instructions from their Russian handler. The SBU officers acted ahead of the game: they documented the entire preparation of the attackers for the terrorist attack and detained both defendants in their hotel immediately after a call to the National Police hotline.
