In Transcarpathia, law enforcement officers detained the smugglers while they were “transferring” 13 men to the Hungarian border. The cost of such a “service” was about 100 thousand dollars.

This was reported by the National Police.

Three Transcarpathian residents aged 25, 44 and 47 organised and set up a channel for transporting men. The defendants transported their clients within the border zone, hiding them in a truck with sand. The transport was specially re-equipped for this purpose. Then the fugitives crossed the “green” border with Hungary on foot.

Having learned the approximate date of the next transfer, law enforcement officers detained the members of the group “red-handed”. In the luggage compartment of the KAMAZ truck, which was driven by one of the defendants, they found 13 men of mobilization age from different regions of Ukraine. Each of them paid the attackers a certain amount of money, some paid in cryptocurrency. In general, the attackers were supposed to receive almost 100 thousand dollars from this transfer alone.

The arrest was made by law enforcement officers on the outskirts of the village of Bolshaya Palad in the Beregovsky district. All three defendants involved in the organization and operation of the channel have been detained. Investigators have already informed them of the suspicion. Each of the suspects faces up to 9 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years with confiscation of property.
