Why and when is Usyk ending his career and how many more fights will he have?

Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk has announced that he intends to hold two more fights before the end of his career, Industrialka writes with reference to SkySports. He wants to hold one of them against the winner of the fight between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker, which will take place on February 22 as part of the Riyadh Season.

Usyk, who remained undefeated in professional boxing and became the absolute champion in both cruiserweight and heavyweight, confirmed his desire to end his career after his last two fights.

“I'll fight whoever wins, Joseph Parker or Daniel Dubois. It's not a problem for me,” Usyk told Sky Sports. The 38-year-old boxer last fought in May last year, when he defeated Tyson Fury to become the undisputed heavyweight champion. He then relinquished the IBF title, but retained the WBC, WBA and WBO belts, defeating Fury again. He also defeated Tyson Fury for the second time in a singles rematch in December 2024.Daniel Dubois, who currently holds the IBF title, will defend his belt in a fight against Parker. The winner of this fight will have a chance to meet Usyk to determine the absolute heavyweight champion.

Dubois himself, who lost to Usyk in 2023, believes that he has significantly improved his skills and is ready for a possible rematch.

“I'm constantly improving. When you become a champion, your level rises. I want to show everyone what I'm capable of and defeat anyone who gets in my way,” said the British boxer.

Usyk stressed that he does not intend to stay in boxing for long. “I think I have one or one and a half years left in boxing. I feel great, but I plan two more fights, no more”, – said the Ukrainian.

Thus, in the near future it will become known who will be Usyk's next opponent and whether he will be able to finish his career at the top of world boxing.
