Russia is strengthening cooperation with China and North Korea despite statements about negotiations with the US

Russia is actively strengthening relations with China and North Korea, signing agreements on cooperation in the economic and security spheres. This is happening despite the Kremlin's statements about its readiness for negotiations with the United States. As IZ reports with reference to ISW, representatives of the Russian authorities recently held meetings in Beijing, where they discussed issues of international and regional security, as well as further coordination of actions on international platforms.

In particular, Sergei Shoigu held talks with Xi Jinping and the Chinese Foreign Minister, where the importance of joint efforts within the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was emphasized. In addition, Russian media focused on statements by Chinese leaders about close bilateral relations.

At the same time, representatives of the Kursk Oblast Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed an agreement with North Korea aimed at developing economic ties and industrial cooperation. The document provides for joint projects in the fields of logistics, industry, and agriculture.

The Institute for the Study of War notes that this Kremlin strategy strengthens the positions of US adversaries and emphasizes the importance of strengthening Washington's allies, including Ukraine. This indicates Moscow's desire to expand its influence in international politics.

Recall that we previously wrote that the DPRK conducted missile tests and increased the combat readiness of its nuclear forces.
