What payments and benefits are provided for parents of deceased military personnel?

Parents of servicemen who died during hostilities are entitled to a one-time cash benefit of 15,000,000 hryvnias. As IZ reports with reference to the BPD, this right arises from the date of death indicated in the death certificate. Payments are not provided for citizens of Russia or Belarus, as well as for persons convicted of high treason or collaboration with an aggressor state.

In addition to cash assistance, the parents of the deceased can take advantage of medical, labor and housing benefits. These include free medicines, priority dental care and medical examinations, as well as 100% payment of sick leave and preferential employment rights. In the area of housing benefits, extraordinary housing provision and access to loans for construction or renovation are provided.

Also, parents of deceased military personnel are entitled to discounts on housing and communal services. In particular, the discount is 50% on housing, communal services and fuel. In addition, priority major repairs of houses and apartments are provided. Such measures are designed to support the families of the deceased and alleviate their financial situation.

Recall that we previously wrote about the benefits provided for the wives of combatants in Ukraine.
