How to calculate your pension in 2025: what affects the amount of payments

In 2025, the size of the pension in Ukraine will depend on the length of service and the salary from which contributions were paid. As reported by IZ with reference to the PFU, the formula for calculating the pension involves multiplying the average earnings by the coefficient of the length of service. This coefficient is determined based on the length of service and the assessment of one year of insurance contributions, which is 1% for most employees.

The coefficient of insurance experience is calculated according to a special formula and cannot exceed 0.75 or 0.85 for certain categories of work. Its value depends on the number of months worked and the established coefficient for assessing the year of experience. The longer a person has worked and paid contributions, the higher this coefficient will be, which significantly affects the size of the pension.

Experts recommend checking in advance the correctness of the calculation of insurance experience and salary in your personal account on the PFU website. It is also important to monitor the payment of contributions by the employer, as this directly affects the final amount of the pension. In case of errors or lack of experience, you can use the option of voluntary payment of contributions.

Recall that we previously wrote that the dispute between Trump and Zelenskyy caused Ukraine's Eurobonds to collapse.
