NMT weighting factors: how they will affect university admissions

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has published the weighting coefficients of subjects for the National Multitest (NMT) 2025. As IZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Education and Science, these coefficients will be applied when entering various specialties and will affect the competitive score of applicants. In particular, the results of the Ukrainian language, mathematics, history of Ukraine and the selected subject will be taken into account for the calculation. For creative specialties, it is planned to take into account the results of creative competitions with the corresponding coefficients.

Weighting factors vary depending on the specialty and allow for greater weighting of subjects that are key to the chosen field of study. For example, for admission to medical specialties, results in biology or chemistry will have greater weight, and for IT specialties – in physics. This approach should help applicants prepare for admission more effectively and choose the optimal set of subjects for the test.

The Ministry urges applicants to familiarize themselves with the weighting coefficients in advance and choose subjects for the NMT in accordance with the requirements of the chosen specialty. This will increase the chances of successful admission and avoid losing points due to the wrong choice of subjects. Detailed explanations regarding the coefficients are published on the MES website.
