Malinovsky returned to the field after a serious injury

Genoa midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi has returned to Serie A after a six-month break due to a serious injury. As IZ reports with reference to 24 Sport, the Ukrainian came on as a substitute in the match of the 28th round against Cagliari, replacing an injured player in the 75th minute. Although Malinovskyi did not score any goals, he received a score of 6.2 points from WhoScored, and the club's press service congratulated him on his return.

The game between Genoa and Cagliari ended with a score of 1:1, and the Ukrainian footballer's appearance on the field was an important event for his fans. Malinovsky has missed matches since September 2024 due to a serious injury – a dislocation of the joint and a fracture of the fibula. In the 2024/25 season, he played only 7 matches, scoring one assist, and now hopes to return to optimal form.

Earlier it was reported that the American club New York City is interested in the Ukrainian, who is ready to offer him a contract. However, Malinovsky is currently focused on playing for Genoa and is eager to help the team in the fight to retain their place in Serie A. Returning to the field after a long break was an important step for the midfielder of the Ukrainian national team, who is trying to return to his best form.

Recall, we previously wrote that Klitschko could return to the ring.
