Republicans are trying to prevent a government shutdown in the US

Leaders of the Republican Party in the House of Representatives presented a bill on emergency funding for the US government. The document transfers the financing of governmental structures until the end of this spring.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine via ABC News.

The document was submitted to the Congress on Saturday, February 8th, under the title “permanent resolution”.

According to Republican leaders, the 99-page bill will modestly increase spending on defense by approximately 6 billion dollars, equal to the 2024 fiscal year, and spending on non-government consumption by approximately 13 billion dollars lower for the 2024 financial year. An additional 6 billion dollars were transferred to protect the health of veterans.

At the same time, the need does not transfer the financing of superordinate situations from spontaneous events to the financing of huge projects.

Trump's “Party Vault”

US President Donald Trump called on Republicans in Congress to support and vote for the bill on short-term financing.

“All republicans are guilty of voting (be kind!) SO for the coming year. Great changes are coming to America, and I ask you all to give us a few months so that we can reach the spring, so that we can continue to restore order in “to the financial house of the country,” wrote one of Truth Social.

Trump said that the Republicans are to blame for “losing themselves,” and added that the Democrats “are doing everything they can to shut down our order, and we can’t allow anything to happen.”

It should be noted that the bill includes additional funding, known as “anomalies”, a reduction of 20 billion dollars in taxes on taxes and increased funding for deportation operations Immigration and Foreign Affairs Services.

Republican Party leaders insist that the bill will pass the White House. The bill introduced financing obligations that were lower than those that were previously established within the framework of the bipartisan agreement on financing for 2023.

Democrats are no good

Recently, Democratic congressmen decided to block the bill, seeking to cut off critically important services such as health care.

Democratic Party leaders such as Jeffreys and Katherine Clarke and the head of the Democratic faction, Pete Aguilar, said on Saturday evening that Democrats would not vote for the bill.

“The Republican party bill on financing the House of Representatives, thoughtlessly wastes spending on health care, food assistance and benefits for veterans for 23 billion dollars. No less alarming are those that the legislation does nothing to protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, setting the American people up for further financial doom,” the leaders said.

House Speaker Mike Johnson is pushing ahead with the Republican Party's plan to hold House votes without Democratic support on Tuesday, February 11th. However, confirming the document in both chambers will be a valid vote, and even before the 14th, Bereznia has lost less than a year.

“The democrats do not support this proposal, which means that the Republicans will require some uniform support. Johnson has no right to pardon with his slight majority of 218-214 votes and may allow yourself to spend less than one defector, since all members vote and attend the meeting,” writes ABC News.

“Hoarding of Vlady for the White House”

A member of the House Appropriations Committee, Connecticut Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, criticized the Republican Party bill.

“I strongly oppose this permanent, river-wide resolution that hoards power for the White House and allows out-of-control billionaire Elon Musk and President Trump to rob the American people,” she wrote. his statement, made public on Saturday.

According to DeLauro, having closed the book of negotiations on bills on river finance that would help the middle class and steal the US national security, “my colleagues on the other side of the aisle have handed over their power to an unelected billionaire.”

Government shutdown in the USA

“Shutdown” is a situation when a part of the American order is confused and is urgently taking action through the approved budget.

The remaining deadline for US funding ends on June 20, 2024.

For example, Mike Johnson introduced to Congress a bill on the hourly budget, which would ensure funding for the state until mid-2025.

However, Donald Trump and Elon Musk praised the document.
