Three Ukrainian biathletes finished in the top 20 in Pokljuka

At the eighth stage of the Biathlon World Cup, held in Pokljuka, Slovenia, three Ukrainian athletes finished a short individual race in the top 20. As IZ reports with reference to 24 Sport, the best result among Ukrainian biathletes was shown by Yulia Dzyma, who took 12th place. Olena Gorodna finished 13th, demonstrating her best race of the season, and Khrystyna Dmytrenko closed the eighteenth position with one miss.

The winner of the race was France's Julia Simon, who finished without a single miss, 40 seconds ahead of her nearest rival. Second place went to Sweden's Anna Oberg, who made one miss in the final shooting. The top three were rounded out by Germany's Franziska Preuss, who also achieved 100 percent accuracy.

In addition to the three Ukrainians in the top 20, two more athletes finished the race far outside the leaders. Oleksandra Merkushyna took 70th place with five faults, and Daryna Chalyk finished 82nd with six faults. The next race in the stage will be the men's short individual, in which Ukraine will be represented by four athletes.
