Usyk may give up the title for a rematch with Dubois

The WBO has ordered Oleksandr Usyk to fight Joseph Parker, but the Ukrainian boxer wants a rematch with Daniel Dubois. As IZ reports with reference to GiveMeSport, under certain conditions this could become a reality – Parker could be offered compensation to withdraw from the fight. This would allow Usyk to meet Dubois again in the summer of 2025.

In the event of a rematch, Usyk risks losing the WBO belt, which would deprive him of a chance at the status of the absolute champion. However, in this situation, there is a possibility of a financial agreement, thanks to which Parker would agree to wait and face the winner of the Usyk-DuBois fight in late 2025.

The WBO decision leaves Usyk with a choice: retain his title or accept a rematch with Dubois. If negotiations with Parker are successful, the fight could take place at Wembley Stadium. In that case, the winner will have a chance to unify the heavyweight titles at the end of the year.

Recall, we previously wrote that three Ukrainian biathletes finished in the top 20 in Pokljuka.
