According to Fox News, Kremlin spokesman Kirill Dmitriev made a surprise statement regarding the possibility of providing security guarantees for Ukraine, but under conditions. He noted that Russia is ready to consider this issue, although it refuses to accept Ukraine's accession to NATO, writes IZ. Dmitriev emphasized that guarantees are being considered that do not involve Kyiv's integration into the alliance.

He also noted progress in the dialogue between Russia and the Trump administration. According to him, the United States was able to understand Russia's position and achieve some progress in the conflict, in particular, in stopping attacks on energy infrastructure between the two countries.

We are having good discussions. Our diplomats are also discussing possible outcomes ,” Dmitriev said, noting that the Trump administration’s efforts have contributed to de-escalation on some issues.

This statement is a significant departure from Russia's previous positions, as the Kremlin has not previously been open to the idea of security guarantees for Ukraine. Dmitriev also added that Moscow does not support Ukraine joining NATO and considers it impossible.

Ukraine was previously accused by Russia of violating the energy truce, although the Ukrainian General Staff denied these claims, calling them baseless.

As previously reported, the Baltics fear that ending the war in Ukraine will increase the threat from Russia.
