US President Donald Trump may have taken advantage of TikTok sales, as if it would reduce social security restrictions in the country. However, the favor was ruined by the mits.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine via Bloomberg and The Washington Post.
Jerela revealed that after months of negotiations, US officials on Wednesday were close to launching a new version of TikTok in the US, which would lead to the management of more American investors.
The proposal transferred a short portion of the Chinese company ByteDance below 20% to comply with US law. It is likely that the document requires the parent company, which is based in Beijing, to sell its share in TikTok or otherwise, the company will be blocked in the United States.
White House officials planned for Trump to sign an executive order to praise this proposal, which would discourage investor support from ByteDance, and introduce a 120-day window for completion. There will be little confusion until the deadline – the 5th quarter, in order to overcome the need to protect social security.
However, this plan quickly failed after Trump announced a large-scale meeting for US trading partners in the 2nd quarter. The tariffs have increased, which increased the foreign tariff rate on many Chinese imported goods to 54%. Representatives of ByteDance announced that the authorities in Beijing will no longer give their blessing until negotiations on tariffs take place, which has angered China and prompted them to go against the United States.
Trump's reaction
We guess that after Trump voted on Friday, he will extend the term for reaching the target for another 75 days. Recently, ByteDance for the first time publicly confirmed negotiations with the US government over TikTok, saying that key supplies still need to be released and that any favor may be subject to Chinese law.
Trump, in his post, once again decided that China would help China negotiate sales, assuming that the United States could impose a reduction on the Mit in exchange for praising Beijing.
“We are determined to continue our commotion with China, which, as I understand it, is not satisfactory with our mutual tariffs. We do not want TikTok to “follow the shadows”. from TikTok and China for laying the land,” Trump wrote.
