British Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit and visited the Superhumans Center, a leading national institution for prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, and psychological support for veterans, IZ writes.
The visit was announced by Andriy Stavnitser, founder of the Superhumans Center. The center specializes in helping military personnel who have suffered injuries, lost limbs or hearing, and are also undergoing stages of psychological rehabilitation and social reintegration.
Prince Harry is the founder of The Invictus Games Foundation , an international sporting event for wounded servicemen and veterans, which he launched in 2014 after his own service in the British Army. The Duke has combat experience: he spent ten years in the armed forces and was twice deployed to Afghanistan, where he lost comrades in battle.
“ This is my first visit to Ukraine – and it certainly won’t be my last. It has been a great honour and privilege to come here with the Invictus delegation, with some of our athletes and Games participants from the UK over the last ten years. To come to Superhumans and see the incredible rehabilitation and care that is provided under one roof, specially created for this – it is simply amazing ,” said Prince Harry during his visit to the centre.
