A car rally is planned in Stockholm on May 9, organized by individuals affiliated with the pro-Russian movement “Immortal Regiment.” Among the participants are a former leader of a neo-Nazi group, well-known supporters of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and a former officer of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, reports the Baltimore Chronicle with reference to Expressen.
Swedish Migration Minister Johan Forssell expressed outrage over the initiative, stating that connections to extremist movements could be grounds for revoking residence permits. He emphasized that Sweden is not obliged to provide asylum to individuals who pose a threat to public order and national security.
The “Immortal Regiment” organization is known for conducting propaganda events both in Russia and abroad. In 2025, Russian authorities officially canceled the group’s events, citing security concerns.
