Former U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that he, along with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, successfully brokered an agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Rwanda, aimed at ending a war that has lasted for decades and has been marked by extreme bloodshed and casualties, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to Truth Social.
According to Trump, delegations from both African nations are expected to arrive in Washington on Monday to officially sign the agreement. He characterized this diplomatic breakthrough as significant not only for Africa but for the world at large.
“This is a great day for Africa and, frankly, a great day for the entire world!” Trump emphasized in his post.
The former U.S. president also noted that he does not expect to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for this initiative, nor for any other efforts he has made to end global conflicts.
“No, I won’t get the Nobel Peace Prize no matter what I do — including with Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Iran — regardless of the outcome. But people know, and that’s all that matters to me,” he stated.
