After the Russian shelling of Odessa on March 15, it became known about the death of ex-deputy mayor Sergei Tetyukhin. Information also appeared about the death of the commander of the Tsunami battalion, Alexander Gostishchev.

Chairman of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov confirmed on his pages on social networks the death of his former first deputy.

“His legacy is modern transport interchanges, equipment provided by international partners and many effective solutions to improve urban space,” Trukhanov wrote.

A fighter of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vygovsky, Evgeny Terekhov, commenting on the death of Alexander Gostishchev on his Facebook page, noted that the deceased first served in the Dnepr-1 battalion. Then he worked in the National Police (he was deputy head of the Odessa region police), and after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation he became the commander of the Tsunami special police battalion.

March 16 was declared a day of mourning in Odessa for those killed as a result of today's Russian attack.
