On Friday, during a White House briefing, a journalist asked Trump if he would like a regime change in Venezuela. The President replied that such plans are not being discussed, while noting that last year’s presidential elections in the country were “very strange,” alluding to allegations of vote fraud.
According to CNN sources, the Trump administration is considering various options for using military force against drug cartels operating in Venezuela. Possible measures include striking targets within the country as part of a broader strategy aimed at weakening President Nicolás Maduro’s position.
On Tuesday, U.S. forces struck a vessel in international waters that, according to Trump, was transporting drugs in the southern Caribbean Sea. The operation resulted in the deaths of 11 people and the sinking of the ship.
