The latest ANKA-3 UAV with a Ukrainian engine was successfully tested in Turkey

Today it became known that the first flight of a new unmanned aerial vehicle ANKA-3 with a Ukrainian engine was carried out in Turkey.

As NBN reports “with reference to European Truth, the ANKA-3 drone was developed by the state company Turkish Aerospace Industries and equipped with an engine from the Ukrainian enterprise Ivchenko-Progress.

It is noted that the first flight of this “bird” lasted for a long time more than one hour. The drone reached an altitude of 2.4 kilometers, and its speed reached 150 knots.

As far as is known, this unmanned aerial vehicle was intended to perform reconnaissance observation and combat missions. It will be able to fly at altitudes of up to almost twelve kilometers. Its stay in the air will last up to ten hours. The payload that this “bird” can carry reaches 1,200 kilograms.

It is noteworthy that the development of new UAVs is one of the priorities of President Erdogan, who is seeking to build Turkey’s defense industry, including modernizing outdated military -air force.

According to the agency, the debut flight of the Turkish-made Kaan fighter was planned for January.
