The UK will lead the Coalition of Maritime Security Capabilities: how this will help Ukraine

Today, the twelfth of January, a document, a security agreement, was signed between Ukraine and Great Britain. It is noteworthy that one of the points of this agreement is to promote the strengthening of Ukrainian defense capabilities in the seas.

As NBN reports, this is stated in the text published on the official website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

It is known that the United Kingdom will lead the Coalition of Maritime Security Capabilities and will make a significant contribution to the development of the maritime fleet of the Ukrainian state.

In The text of the agreement itself states the following:

The Maritime Capability Coalition aims to support Ukraine so that it becomes a full-fledged contributor to maritime security in the Black and Azov Seas until 2035 and more.a

The purpose of such a coalition is to help the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian state to be able to contain and counter threats in the future and resume economic activity. It is also necessary to promote our country into interoperability with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in the maritime sphere.
