50th prisoner exchange with the Russian Federation: Ukraine returned home another 207 defenders

Wednesday, January 31 , Zelensky said that Ukraine returned home 207 defenders from Russian captivity. The head of state thanked for the work the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the MOU Kirill Budanov, the head of the OPU Andrei Ermak, the head of the SBU Vasily Malyuk, the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko and the secretary of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War Dmitry Usov, reports NBN.

The head of Zelensky’s Office clarified that today the second large exchange of prisoners with the Russian Federation took place after a long break. The official noted that 207 Ukrainians who returned to their homeland fought against the invaders in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Service and the National Police. Among the soldiers there are many defenders of Mariupol.

In turn, Lubinets said that Ukraine has already carried out the 50th exchange of prisoners with a terrorist state. According to the Ombudsman, our country has once again demonstrated its desire to bring home all its citizens.

Earlier, Budanov announced the failure of the prisoner exchange on January 24, when an Il-76 military plane crashed near Belgorod, allegedly carrying Ukrainians.
