In an interview with the British publication The Telegraph, the chief intelligence officer of Ukraine predicted that the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could begin in the spring, when the offensive of the “second army of the world” has completely dried up, NBN reports.

Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the MOU noted that the defenders make a move, then the occupiers make a move. Now it’s the enemy’s turn and when he finishes the offensive, the counter-offensive of Ukrainian troops will begin.

The general recalled that as part of this operation, the invaders want to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Also, Russian troops are simultaneously attacking in the Bakhmut, Avdeevsky, Limansky and Kupyansky directions.

The military leader admitted that the “liberators” in the Avdeevka area “achieved certain successes,” but this is not even close to what the enemy expected from this offensive.

Journalists drew attention to the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not conduct major offensive operations against Putin’s army after the end of the summer counteroffensive. Now the Ukrainian military is on the active defense and is creating large fortifications in the rear.

Earlier, General Nikolai Malomuzh told what the Ukrainian Armed Forces should do to create conditions for launching an offensive at the front.
