CNN, citing its own sources, stated that Zelensky could fire Zaluzhny in a few days. According to media reports, the candidacy of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the MOU Kirill Budanov and the commander of the Ground Forces Alexander Syrsky is being considered for the position of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, NBN reports.

Journalists noted that the decree on the dismissal of Zaluzhny would be the largest military shock to the head of state in the entire period of a full-scale war with the Russian Federation.

The material notes that tension between the Ukrainian leader and the general increased after the unsuccessful counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the publication of the military leader’s article in The Economist last fall. Then Zaluzhny stated that there was a deadlock situation at the front.

Recall that the representative of Zelensky’s Office, Mikhail Podolyak, commented on the reaction of Ukrainians to rumors about Zaluzhny’s dismissal.
