About the fact that certain categories of pensioners in Ukraine may not have felt the previous indexation of payments, but soon everything will change for the better, writes NBN, citing an explanation made by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine Daria Marchak in the broadcast of the national telethon on the TSN YouTube channel.

According to Marczak, in 2023, the government made the first attempt to eliminate the above-described shortcoming, increasing the amount of benefits by 19 percent for almost all senior citizens, including 3 million pensioners who had the lowest payments, and this trend will continue in the first month of spring 2024 year.

In addition, since there are shortcomings in the norms of Ukrainian pension legislation, a “pension system project design” is currently being developed to correct them. In particular, the Ministry of Social Policy intends to remove the division in which citizens were unevenly increased in the amount of payments due to the fact that some benefits are tied to the subsistence minimum, and others to the minimum wage.

Marczak emphasized:

And we very carefully ensure that, due to shortcomings in legislation, not a single category of pensioners is left outside the indexation perimeter.

Earlier, we wrote about the fact that the PFU reminded Ukrainians under occupation about video identification to receive pensions.
