Zelensky spoke about attempts on his life and the “cancellation” of elections in Ukraine

Head of State Vladimir Zelensky spoke about Russian attempts on his life. The Ukrainian leader also spoke about the postponement of the presidential elections and assessed his chances of winning if the voting took place in the near future.

The President, in an interview with the American Fox News channel, said that during the full-scale war with the Russian Federation, at least five attempts were made on his life. The Ukrainian leader admitted that after the fifth attempt he became “uninterested”, NBN reports.

Speaking about the “cancellation” of elections in our country, Zelensky reminded the interviewer that during martial law their holding is prohibited by law. The head of state denied statements that he was trying to stay in power by postponing the vote.

At the same time, the guarantor believes that if the elections were held in the near future, he would again sit in the presidential chair, given his current popularity and support in Ukrainian society.

During the interview, Zelensky also denied reports that he fired General Valery Zaluzhny from the post of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to political competition. The head of state explained why he decided to change the military leadership.
