Responding to a request from the publication “ Commander-in-Chief,” the CEC said that the guarantor will not have any problems with legitimacy after five years of presidency. The department recalled that during martial law the law prohibits holding elections, NBN reports.

The Central Election Commission clarified that, according to Articles 106 and 108 of the Constitution, power must be continuous, that is, the head of state must perform his functions until his successor takes office, so there is no reason to transfer Zelensky’s functions to Stefanchuk.

The department added that the Russians are now using all methods and mechanisms in the information space to incite hostility within Ukraine. In particular, in order to undermine the trust of Ukrainians in power, the enemy can promote the topic of “May 20”.

As reported, the OPU named a condition for discussing the holding of presidential elections during the war.
