On the national telethon, the head of the foreign ministry said that the head of state had been looking for a candidate for the post of our country’s ambassador to the United Kingdom for a long time, NBN reports .
According to the diplomat, one of the key requirements for the representative of Ukraine in the UK was an understanding of the military context, since London is one of the leaders in military assistance to Kiev and has a vision of military strategy.
The minister noted that he had several conversations with the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during which he became convinced that the general was not against diplomatic work. The Foreign Minister recalled that the military leader has a specialized education for the new position; four years ago he received a master's degree in international relations.
The diplomat added that he is interested in a strong post in the United Kingdom and the appointment of Zaluzhny to this the position will definitely strengthen our system.
Earlier, the president explained why he dismissed Zaluzhny from the post of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
