The trend of rising food prices in Ukraine slowed down significantly by the end of 2023 due to record harvests and the complication of exporting agricultural goods across the western border, but soon this process may go in the opposite direction, according to NBU forecasts.

About the fact that the average cost of food on the shelves of supermarkets in Ukraine last month, if we compare with February 2022 year, still increased by 2.6 percent, and over the past 4 weeks, these goods have risen in price by 0.4 percent, writes NBN, citing the official page of the State Statistics Service (Gosstat).
In according to data from the statistical department, over the last year, prices have risen the most:
- butter by 10.2 percent;
- milk – by 9.6 percent; meat and its derivatives – by 9.1 percent; cheeses and cottage cheese – by 8.5 percent; percent;
- drinks that do not contain alcohol—by 6.3 percent;
- baked goods—by 5.5 percent;
- fish and products made from it—by 4.7 percent;
- vegetables—by 3.7 percent.
At the same time, they fell prices for:
- pasta —within within 0.1 percent;
- some types of bakery products —by 2.5 percent;
- sugar —by 10.5 percent;
- eggs — by 16.7 percent;
- vegetable oil from sunflower seeds — by 16.7.
