Putin received 87% of the votes in the elections: ISW explained what is behind the record “support” for the dictator

This year, in the so-called presidential elections in the Russian Federation, dictator Vladimir Putin received more than 87% of the votes. The Washington Institute for the Study of War explained what is behind the record “support” for the head of the Kremlin.

In the ISW analytical material, they drew attention to the report of the head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova based on the results of the so-called presidential elections in the Russian Federation. According to her, this year there was a record voter turnout – 77.44%, and Putin “won” with a result of 87.28% of the votes, NBN reports.

The head of the Kremlin and his associates boasted that , that such indicators of public “support” supposedly demonstrate the “unity” of the Russian Federation and “trust” in the dictator.

The Central Election Commission also reported that the president is an aggressor in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, Zaporozhye and in Crimea allegedly received from 88.12% to 95.23% of the votes.

American analysts noted that during the occupation, “officials” falsified record-high support for the head of the Kremlin, forcing Ukrainians to participate in fake presidential elections. According to Putin, such indicators supposedly indicate “gratitude for Russian protection” of the residents of the occupied regions.

ISW explained that the President of the Russian Federation continues to create information conditions to justify a protracted war against a neighboring state and the long-term occupation of its territories under under the pretext of “protecting” peaceful Ukrainians.

Earlier, the head of Russia said that he wants to create a “sanitary zone” in Ukraine. Zelensky explained the dictator's words.
