About the fact that the Russian generals for the first time confirmed the creation of the “Dnieper River Flotilla” for the war against Ukraine, as well as how Putin’s army will use its ships, NBN writes, citing the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to ISW analysts, the invaders will deploy this flotilla in the Kherson region to carry out assaults on the bridgehead of the defenders on the left bank, including actions directed against raids by the Defense Forces of our country across the Dnieper. In addition, the “liberators” may try to support their own raids across the river, with the aim of landing Russian occupation forces on the Ukrainian-controlled right bank of the Dnieper.
However, the number and level of equipment of the “Dnieper River Flotilla” is sufficient are little known to ISW, but it is unlikely that the invaders have the forces and resources necessary to re-occupy the right bank of the Kherson region.
Experts from the Institute for the Study of War added that the transfer of a new formation to this area could force Ukraine to send in the Kherson region there are reserve units and armored vehicles in short supply, and the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have to make difficult decisions on the distribution of resources, since our country at this stage has only limited volumes of artillery ammunition and other important equipment.
