Russia's use of photos from satellites of Western countries for strikes on Ukraine: Budanov answered whether this is possible

About the fact that not only Moscow could purchase from Western companies satellite frames with objects located on the territory of Ukraine, NBN writes, citing the explanation of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov, published by Suspilny.

According to Budanov, in Ukraine it was assumed that access to satellite images of allied countries would be closed to the terrorist state. However, over the past 6 months, it has become known that private companies in the West can, and do, sell satellite photographs: for example, such footage of “sensitive areas” of Ukraine can be purchased from Planet or Maxar, not directly, but ;connecting to intermediary sites, at costs from 1 000 to 1 200 dollars per 1 unit.

Thus, any matches between photo posting, successful strikes RF and  Western “commerce” is not at all accidental, although it is “hard to believe.”

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense summarized:

All countries buy, and we including  This is a purely commercial service. They [the Russian Federation] still use commercial photographs.

Earlier, we wrote about the fact that Budanov assessed the threat of the invaders’ attack on the Sumy and Chernigov regions.
