Mandatory increase in the “minimum wage” from April: what fines do employers face for failure to comply?

In our country, from April 1 of this year, it is planned to raise the minimum wage (“minimum wage”) for all workers, and fines will be imposed on employers for ignoring the updated rules.

About the fact that in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024”, in April the “minimum wage” should increase from 7 100 hryvnia to 8 000 hryvnia/monthly or 48&nbsp ;hryvnia/hourly, writes “NBN”, referring to the official page of the State Tax Service and the official Facebook account of the State Service for Labor Issues.

State Labor specialists warn that if violations of the above-described requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers are detected, employers will be forced to the payment of considerable fines: the amount of the penalty will be two times the minimum wage (at the first detection of a violation) – 16,000 hryvnia/for each employee, and if the requirements of the Ukrainian authorities are repeated, the financial indicator of the punishment will increase by 2 times .
