Adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Petr Andryushchenko announced an increase in the mortality rate in the city temporarily captured by Russian troops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, explaining why it has not subsided.

On the air of the TV channel “We are Ukraine” an adviser to the city mayor reported that in the temporarily captured Mariupol the mortality rate had increased to 400 people per week, NBN reports.
The official told reporters that before the start of a full-scale war with Russia, even during the coronavirus pandemic during large wave of morbidity, the mortality rate in Mariupol was 150 people per week.
Andryushchenko clarified that in absolute figures it is 2.5 times higher, and in statistical data it is 7-8 times higher than the mortality rate, which is not decreasing due to the collapse of the medical system in the occupied city.
The mayor's adviser also said that at least ten cases of cholera were recorded in different Mariupol schools. However, the “liberators” are not at all worried about this situation; they are not going to introduce quarantine. Instead, the enemy thought about sending children on vacation to hide the facts of the emergence of an extremely contagious disease.
The official believes that it is too early to talk about a cholera epidemic in the city, but there is a threat that the disease will gain momentum.
Earlier, the Mariupol City Council told how the Russians are forcing city residents to obtain Russian passports before July 1.
