Scholz spoke about a scenario in which he is ready to continue dialogue with Putin

The last telephone conversation between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin took place on December 2, 2022 – the leaders tried to discuss the war in Ukraine, but, predictably, did not reach a consensus.

The fact that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not exclude the possibility of continuing such communication with the Kremlin tyrant Vladimir Putin, but only under certain conditions, writes NBN, citing the Tageszeitung material.

According to Scholz, the point of discussing anything with Putin will appear only “when the time comes,” in particular, when the Russian Federation realizes that the vision of their version of the world will not translate into reality, and Putin understands that that he is obliged to stop his “campaign” and withdraw the army from Ukraine.

The Federal Chancellor added that conversations identical to those held in December 2022 are useful because they give a sense of the potential possibility of changing the critical situations. However, at this stage, the ongoing “Russian war” indicates the opposite.

Scholz summarized:

And I not&nbsp ;I rule out further discussions [with Putin] in the future. At the initiative of the Ukrainian government, diplomatic efforts are being conducted at the level of national security advisers, which includes the countries of the Global South—this is important.

Earlier, we wrote about what Zelensky explained , why Scholz refuses to provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles.
