The Slovak Prime Minister said that the integration of Ukraine into the North Atlantic Alliance could spark a new global armed conflict, NBN reported with reference to Kresy.

Fico reported that he does not support Ukraine's membership in NATO. According to the politician, the country’s entry into the organization “is only useful for the Third World War.” The head of government added that his state “is sufficiently independent Ukraine.”

Also, the representative of Bratislava said that he is ready to pursue a policy of good and friendly relations with any states that are interested in this.

In particular, the prime minister emphasized that Slovakia “has a strong interest” in restoring normal relations with the Russian Federation after the end of the war in Ukraine.

Recall that on April 11, Fico met with the head of the government of Ukraine Denis Shmygal. After the negotiations, the Slovak Prime Minister said that Bratislava will not interfere with Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
