In an interview with the Air Force, the military leader said that at the moment there is a threat of a new offensive by the “second army peace” to the north of our country and Kyiv without any basis. According to the chief intelligence officer of Ukraine, the situation has not changed at all, NBN reports.
The general also commented on the words of CIA Director William Burns, who reported that on the eve of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation he came to Kyiv and conveyed information about plans of the occupiers, in particular for a landing in Gostomel, however, the head of state Vladimir Zelensky considered this data unproven.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the MOU noted that he personally knows Burns and is proud of this acquaintance, so it was inappropriate for him to publicly comment on the director’s statements CIA. At the same time, he confirmed that Ukrainian intelligence had similar information about the upcoming attack by the Russian Armed Forces.
Budanov recalled that on the eve of the Russian invasion, in the fall, the Main Intelligence Directorate publicly warned about the threat and indicated the directions in which the enemy intended to attack. However, the military leader refused to answer the journalist’s question whether this information was passed on to Zelensky and what his reaction was.
Also in the interview, the general assessed Ukraine’s ability to end the war by reaching the 1991 borders.
