The media learned the conditions for the transfer by Greece of the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine

Greek media report that Athens will transfer part of its Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine to strengthen air defense, but under two conditions.

Pronews, citing sources in the Greek government, stated that Athens is ready to provide Ukraine with air defense installations, but only if the United States fulfills two conditions , NBN reports.

The Greek authorities are ready to transfer to Kyiv one Patriot Pac 3 battery, which will be able to shoot down ballistic missiles in exchange for security guarantees from the United States due to the threat from Turkey, without specifying which ones.

In addition, the Greek leadership wants to receive monetary compensation from Washington for the air defense systems sent to Ukraine from the aid package to Kyiv, which should be adopted by the Senate. The option of transferring the Patriot air defense system from American reserves to Athens is also being considered.

According to journalists, Ukraine may receive one Patriot battery from Greece, but in the future the country may be provided with another.

Previously British edition The Financial Times stated that the leaders of the European Union and NATO are putting pressure on the leadership of Greece and Spain so that the countries send more air defense systems to Ukraine.
