British intelligence explained why the Immortal Regiment marches on May 9 were again canceled in the Russian Federation

The Russian elite has already refused to celebrate the traditional “Victory Day” in the temporarily occupied territories (TOT) of our country, fearing not only protests by the local population, outraged by the forced mobilization campaign and a number of identical factors.

About the fact that for the second year in a row the Kremlin is canceling the traditional marches of the “Immortal Regiment”, timed to coincide with May 9, because it perceives a high degree of risk of emergency situations, including the likelihood of discontent of the local society provoked by the failed war against Ukraine, writes “ NBN”, referring to the official X-account of the UK Ministry of Defense.

British military intelligence analysts note that Moscow canceled the Immortal Regiment marches, but allowed portraits of deceased relatives to be hung on cars or in public places , highlighting the period from 1 to 11 May.

Also, in five regions of the aggressor country – Bryansk, Pskov, Belgorod, Ryazan and Kursk, parades were banned on 9 May, apparently due to well-founded fears of attacks by Ukrainian drones.

In particular, the UK Ministry of Defense indicated in 2023, a week before May 9, over the Kremlin towers an “unknown” kamikaze drone exploded, for which Russia habitually blamed Ukraine.

We previously wrote about how the British Minister of the Armed Forces assessed the losses of the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine.
