The head of the Polish foreign ministry in an interview with Axel Springer said that the position of the former American leader on Ukraine “not as black and white as some people think,” NBN reports with reference to Politico.
The diplomat believes that the US presidential candidate from the Republican Party was right when he called on European countries to allocate more money to defense Sikorsky also recalled that the ex-head of the White House transferred anti-tank missiles to Kyiv even before a full-scale war.
The minister linked Trump’s statement, which he made on the eve of the vote in the US House of Representatives for the allocation of aid to Ukraine, with the meeting of the ex-head States with Polish leader Andrzej Duda in New York. Then the American politician said that the survival and strength of Ukraine are important for America.
The Foreign Minister believes that this indicates a change in the position of the US presidential candidate on Ukraine, since he sees that harsh opposition in the matter of supporting Kyiv is harmful his chances of returning to the White House.
Recall that, as the media stated, Trump, during his presidency, called Ukraine “part of the Russian Federation” during conversations with foreign leaders.
