Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov reported on the situation in the Kharkov region and explained why the Russian occupation forces did not launch an attack on the Sumy region.

Chief intelligence officer of Ukraine on air at the national telethon confirmed that the Russian Armed Forces are planning an attack on the Sumy region and are now holding small groups of troops in the Sudzha area of the Kursk region, NBN reports.
According to the general, the Russian invaders have long planned the corresponding operation, but so far they cannot to launch an attack on the Sumy region due to problems in the Kharkov region.
The military leader said that the active phase of the Russian border operation continues in the Kharkov region, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already blocked the enemy at the lines that he was able to enter.
Budanov stressed that the situation in the region is not catastrophic, the occupiers do not have significant successes, so Ukrainians should not panic. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate noted that the main goal of this Russian operation was to create chaos and draw back the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Eastern direction, but the invaders failed to do this.
