Kuleba explained why the Russian Federation constantly accuses Ukraine of “breaking the peace agreement” in Istanbul

On his page on the social network X, the head of the Foreign Ministry published a video commentary in which he refuted statements that Ukraine and the Russian Federation allegedly almost agreed on a cessation of hostilities in the spring of 2022, but under the influence of London, Kyiv refused to enter into an agreement, NBN reports.

According to the diplomat, this is one of the Kremlin’s lies, which he recalls in order to blur the focus and shift the blame for the start of a full-scale war with the Russian Federation onto our country. The minister emphasized that if the Russians really wanted peace, they would not have attacked Ukraine.

Kuleba recalled that, indeed, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian and Russian delegations held meetings. However, there were no prospects for a real solution due to the different positions of the parties and the absurd demands of Moscow.

In addition, the Kremlin rejected the possibility of a meeting between Zelensky and Putin, which was also discussed between the parties. The head of the Foreign Ministry noted that it was not the Ukrainian leader or the former head of the British government Boris Johnson who was to blame for the failure of a potential agreement between the countries, but only the Russian dictator.

Recall that the OPU commented on the words of the deputy head of the MOU Main Intelligence Directorate about possible negotiations with the Russian Federation next year.
