About the fact that the forces and means of the new US air defense base located in the northern part of Poland (they will detect and “land” ballistic missiles) are fully ready to carry out the proper mission, writes NBN, citing on information voiced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and published by Reuters.
According to Stoltenberg, the above-described status of the base is an important step towards ensuring transatlantic security against the background of an increased “ballistic” threat. In particular, since NATO is a defense bloc, it will not ignore such risks.
NATO Secretary General emphasized:
Missile defense is an essential element for NATO's core mission of collective defence… [and] is designed to protect Europeans, territory and troops from ballistic missile attacks.
