Reuters writes that at least 17 congressmen and members of the Democratic Party called on the head of state to abandon the fight for the presidency and allow political strength to choose another candidate, NBN reports with reference to Kreschatic.
Democrats are concerned about the American leader's low approval ratings. They also believe that Biden may be too old to be head of state. All this, according to the president’s party members, could lead to the loss of seats in the US Senate and House of Representatives.
Previously, the head of the White House on June 27 had an unsuccessful performance at the debate with his opponent Donald Trump.
The press conference on July 11 was also not without embarrassment for the American leader: he called the head of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky “President Putin” and US Vice President Camilla Garrison “Vice President Trump.”
In addition, Biden was sometimes confused in his answers. However, at the event, the head of the White House still demonstrated his many years of experience in the political arena, giving a detailed assessment of global problems, in particular the Russian invasion of Ukraine and Israel’s war with Hamas.
However, these positive aspects did not reassure some Democrats. Party members insist that the political force must nominate a strong candidate instead of Biden to counter Trump.
