Kuleba named 5 steps to improve the situation in the energy system of Ukraine

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba listed five priority steps that will help quickly support the energy system of our country, which has suffered from numerous attacks by the Russian occupiers.

The diplomat, during his participation in the online meeting of the Council of EU Foreign Ministers, said that the attacks of the Russian Armed Forces with missiles and drones destroyed or damaged a significant part of the generating capacity, thermal generation, hydroelectric power stations, as well as objects of the electricity transmission system, NBN reports.

The head of the foreign ministry said that the Ukrainian leadership is now focused on urgent energy support five steps. Kyiv is working to strengthen its air defense to effectively repel Russian attacks.

According to Kuleba, in addition, Ukraine is engaged in the rapid repair and restoration of generation and distribution facilities, and is working on the decentralization of the energy system, in particular on the installation of cogeneration plants.

Also, as the minister said, Kyiv intends to increase import capacity from the European Union from the current 1.7 to 2.2 GW and attract more funds and equipment from partners.
