As NBN reports with reference to Deutsche Welle material, according to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, there is only one scenario in which Germany will not become to deploy American long-range weapons on its territory.
According to Scholz, the planned deployment of American missiles on German territory is intended to serve as a deterrent, since only such weapons systems can guarantee that Germany will not be attacked.
The German Chancellor rejected concerns that the upcoming deployment of US missile weapons would provoke an escalation in relations with the Russian Federation, since the system for monitoring American weapons has been carefully developed and verified.
Scholz emphasized that the Russian Federation is quite capable of preventing the deployment of American long-range missiles to hit targets in Germany if it quickly ends the war against the Ukrainian state:
The first thing Russia should do is stop its terrible war of aggression against Ukraine and abandon its attempt to conquer the entire country.
Earlier we wrote about Scholz explaining why Berlin would not change its position regarding German weapons strikes against Russia.
