Ukraine launches “I Want to Be with My Own” project to exchange traitors for captured defenders and civilians

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, 3,405 Ukrainians out of more than 10,000 prisoners of the Russian Federation have been returned home, while our special services have opened no less than 7,400 criminal cases regarding the collaborationist actions of some citizens.

As reported by NBN with reference to the LB.UA material, the Ukrainian special services (GUR and SBU) with the participation of the Ombudsman's Secretariat, have created the project “I Want to Be with My People”, aimed at intensifying the return of our prisoners of war and civilians from Russian prisons in exchange for traitors and collaborators.

In particular, the specialists of the Coordination Headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war were presented with a joint state project “I want to go to my own people”, available via a hyperlink. The key goal of this initiative is to publish on this resource information concerning convicted collaborators, agents and traitors who collaborated with the Russian “authorities” during the occupation.

For example, thanks to the “consent to exchange” functionality , a convicted traitor of Ukraine will be able to apply for an exchange for Ukrainians. In addition, collaborators who are currently helping the Russian Federation for this or any other reason, through a special questionnaire on the project website, will be able to stop such activities, but only if certain conditions are met.

Also, in a special column on the page, it will be possible to share any information regarding the activities of Russian agents or help citizens who, for some reason, want to travel to Russia, submit a request on this resource.

We previously wrote about that Lubinets reported how many civilians Ukraine had returned from captivity in the RF over 10 years.
