The other day, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry Andrei Belousov worriedly called his American counterpart Lloyd Austin, reporting rather ambiguous information.

As NBN reports, citing unnamed sources from The New York Times, Kyiv was allegedly preparing some kind of American-approved “secret operation” against the aggressor country.
Based on the words of the publication’s informants, high-ranking Pentagon officials were a little surprised by Belousov’s statement, since they did not even have information about the existence of some little-known “conspiracy” with Ukraine. However, regardless of this, all US Defense Department officials said they took Belousov’s words with a high degree of seriousness.
In addition, The New York Times’ sources assure that the Pentagon contacted the relevant Ukrainian structures and said “not to do this if there is such a plan.”
It should be noted that since the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine in February 2022, Austin has spoken by phone with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu no more than five times, and the initiative almost always came from from the Pentagon, often with the goal of avoiding miscalculations that could provoke an escalation of the “conflict.”
Earlier we wrote about the Pentagon finding billions of dollars to support Ukraine after correcting “accounting errors.”
