As reported by NBN with reference to the official Telegram channel of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), the former first and now fourth racket Kalinina had to withdraw from participation in the Paris Olympic Games for a very good reason.

In particular, the tennis player reported that the reason for the above-described situation was a common cold.

According to Kalinina, on the eve of the meeting with the Dutchwoman, she stayed on the courts for too long, waiting for the start of the competition – due to the constant rain, the next morning the tennis player “felt a sore throat”, and was “very upset” because playing at the Olympics representing her country during a particularly difficult time was “a big dream and an honor.”

The athlete summed it up:

But they still decided not to take risks to avoid complications. Thank you all for your support and I wish victories to all Ukrainian athletes!

Earlier we wrote about Svitolina telling why she does not intend to live with the Ukrainian national team in the “Olympic village”.
